Borussia Dortmund have hit back at Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the striker claimed he wanted to quit the club this summer.

Earlier this week, the Gabon international admitted that he needed to leave the Bundesliga side at the end of the season in order to take his career ‘to the next level’.

Aubameyang also suggested that Real Madrid may not be his next destination due to the amount of speculation, while Arsenal continue to be linked with a move.

But Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc has ordered the forward to stop thinking about his future.

‘We have had a brief meeting with Aubameyang and have advised him to give fewer interviews about his plans for the summer and focus more on the race for Champions League qualification,’ Zorc told Westdeutschen Allgemeinen.

‘We have a great relationship with him, but we had to do something to show our focus is on the sporting aspect of the game.’
