Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic's proposed transfer deadline day move to Bournemouth was blocked by manager Antonio Conte, after the Blues missed out on the chance to sign Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon.
The Mirror report that Begovic himself was keen to complete a £10m switch to the south coast in a bid to gain regular playing time. However, Conte stepped in to stop the move as a replacement for the Chelsea number two could not be found.
It was widely reported in the days leading up to the Tuesday's transfer deadline that the Blues were keen to sign Gordon and were prepared to offer him a two-year deal. The Scotland international apparently declined the chance to move to Stamford Bridge and could well be handed a new contract with the Bhoys, which will tie him down until June 2020.
Gordon has re-established himself with the SPL champions after suffering a number of cruel injuries whilst playing in the Premier League with Sunderland.

Whilst the offer to join Conte's title chasing team will have been the tempting, the 34-year-old was perhaps put off the move by knowing that he would be Thibaut Courtois' number two, meaning his game time would be severely limited at Stamford Bridge.
For Begovic meanwhile, he will now have to wait until the end of the campaign before he can push for a move away from Chelsea.
The Bosnian has made just five appearances for the Blues this season and has been unable to usurp Courtois as the team's first choice goalkeeper, ever since he joined the club from Stoke for an estimated £8m back in 2015.
