

Macon County, N.C. (WLOS) —
The Macon County Sheriff's Office said eight people were arrested on drug-related charges following an investigation and execution of a search warrant at a home on Mark Dowdle Road.
Following a traffic stop, officers were able to obtain a search warrant for a locally know "drug house," where they found a large amount of heroin and cash along with marijuana, methamphetamine, firearms and scales.
“There was a little bit of a scuffle ... nothing major,” Macon County Sheriff Robbie Holland said. “Everything worked out really well. Everybody went into custody."
The following face drug charges in connection with the case:
Jeremiah Alex Keener, 39, is charged with two counts of felony trafficking opium or heroin and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond is set at $200,000. According to authorities, he was arrested following a traffic stop at Terrell Road.
Jonathan Russell Key, 30, is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond set at $5,000. According to authorities, he was arrested following a traffic stop at the Tractor Supply PVA.
Robert Brandon Clark, 30, is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. His bond is set at $5,000. According to authorities, he was arrested following a traffic stop at the Tractor Supply PVA.
Jessika Louise Synder, 26, is charged with felony trafficking opium or heroin, felony possession of controlled substance on prison/jail premises, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond is set at $50,000. According to authorities, she was arrested during a traffic stop at Terrell Road.
Tyler Garrett Converse, 23, is charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance, felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond is set at $25,000. According to authorities, he was arrested while executing a search warrant at Mark Dowdle Road.
Ryan Eugene McHan, 31, is charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver heroin, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond s set at $25,000. According to authorities, he was arrested while executing a search warrant at Mark Dowdle Road.
Nicholas James Keith, 26, is charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver heroin, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place fora controlled substance, felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond set at $28,000. According to authorities, he was arrested while executing a search warrant at Mark Dowdle Road.Bradley Brian Duane Keith, 24, is charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, distribute heroin, felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond is set at $25,000. According to authorities, he was arrested while executing a search warrant at Mark Dowdle Road.
The sheriff said there's plenty of chatter about drugs in the area on social media.
“The information from the community is what helps,” Holland said. “The only way we're going to conquer this is by working together.”
A court date in the case has been set for Feb. 15.
Friday night, concerned residents held a Prayers Against Drugs rally at the Macon County Courthouse.
